The History of the Department

The Department of General Engineering Training was established in 2001 in connection with the creation of Berezhany Agrotechnical Institute. The post of head of the department held candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Vitrovyi A.V. Later the department was headed by senior teacher Horot Ie.V., candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Kliuchkovskyi M.M., candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Klendiy M. B.

On the department worked doctor of technical sciences, prof. Pylypets M.I., doctor of technical sciences, prof. Hevko R.B., doctor of technical sciences, prof. Volchenko O.I., candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Liashuk O.L. In 2001-2005 the material resources of the department were intensively developing, was established the laboratory of materials science, mechanics of materials and structures, machine parts, interchangeability, standardization and technical measurements.

At the initial stage the scientific potential of the department was provided by part-time staff from other institutions, including  Ternopil State Technical University by I. Puliui (prof. Pylypets M.I., PhD. Liashuk O.L.), Ternopil National Economic University (prof. Hevko R.B.), Ivano-Frankivsk Technical University of Oil and Gas (prof. Volchenko O.I.).

In 2007 by teachers of the department were defended two dissertations (Klendiy M.B., Drahan A.P.). Since that time new areas of research began to form (the improvement of constructions of continuous machinery transport, the investigation of combustion processes of agropelets, the increase of the wear resistance of friction pairs of elements, etc.). In 2015 by teachers of the department were defended two more dissertations (Stebeletska N.M., Klendiy O.M.). Currently, the department has five candidates of sciences, three senior teachers and one assistant.

Scientific work

The main directions of scientific activity of the department are:

- Investigation of combustion process of agropelets;

- Improvement of constructions of continuous machinery transport;

- Improving the durability of elements of friction pairs;

The department launched in 2015 the following initiative (search) scientific topics:

  1. Hlovyn A.L. "Increasing the wear resistance of cylinder liners of auto-tractor engines."
  2. Horot E.V. "The investigation of combustion process of straw rolls."
  3. Karas V.I. "The investigation of surface roughness parameters of machine parts after machining of various kinds."
  4. Lisnyak P.H. "The study of parameters of gas emissions generated by burning of agropelets."

There are in the assets of teaching staff of the department: 124 published works, including 2 monographs, 5 textbooks, 14 manuals, 16 patents for inventions. During the period of department existence were defended 4 theses for the degree of candidate of technical sciences. The department launched the annual scientific seminars and conferences
